    Ep54 - In Spread Formation

Adam joined the TNA this week as both Timmy and Billy Corey were on assignment in Lowell...YA DUDE. Speaking of which, check out this pic of their ringside seats at the Gloves kid!!

So many Lowell kids wanted to beat the crap out of each other so they had to add a second night and that's where Timmy and BC were tonight, so Scotty Dukes and Adam got you covered.

Everything from the Celtics nine game win streak to Jags heading to Tampa Bay, we've got everything in between.
Oh did we mention that we're STILL WAITING ON TEK? Yup...deadline is soon so Jason is either going to accept the Sox $5 million deal or retire. I hope he comes back.

A couple other news of note, Matty Cassel's franchise tag will set the Pats back $14.6 mil and will Adam's campaign to bring in TO come true? Probably not. Thanks for checking out the show tonight.

Stay here for complete coverage of the Super Bowl...hahahaha, we'll be at the movies...that's our coverage. More on Monday night!!

    C's Reign Supreme

Nobody really expected a late January match-up against the Sacramento Kings at the Boston Garden to be much of a game, but then again, nobody talked to Eddie House about it. The Celtics handled the Kings 119-100, so there wasn't much competition happening, but there sure was excitement as the Celtics picked up their ninth straight win.

Where did the excitement come from? Somewhere beyond the three point arch as Eddie House continued his absolute domination of the perimeter. House made 8 of 9 three pointers and is making a strong case for himself to participate in the 3-point shooting contest in the all star game.

I have to be honest, when I watched Eddie House on Sunday against the Mavs, I thought he was a bit selfish and all he ever wanted to do was get the ball so he could shoot, but I have since changed my tone. The guy hussles on every play and is always looking to make the right play, which 8 times out of 9 last night he did.

Then there was the small matter of Rajon Rondo who had another GAME and made a bigger case for himself to be included on the East roster of the All Star team (even though he'll probably be left off the list.) As goes Rajon so goes the Celtics and anytime that's the case you know a guy should be at least considered for the all-star roster.

So the Celtics move on to prepare to play in Detroit on Friday. Nobody envy's that. Who wants to spend their Friday night in the Motor City? I know I don't. Looking for their 10th win in a row and to continue their second longest winning streak of the season, keeping hope alive that they will match or beat the season record set by the Bulls who went 72-10. I know the C's are aiming a little higher than that, 73-9, here we come!!

Will he or won't he? That's the question...

The big boys have given the former Captain of the Boston Red Sox a deadline to make a decision on whether or not he will be returning to place the "C" on that uniform again this season. The report first came out as Sat. the 31st being D-day. The latest reeports now are saying it is the end of business on Friday the 30th. Either way I am happy that there is a deadline on this deal, with going back and forth wondering "will he or won't he?" was starting to wear me thin. The Sox need to know whether to move on and grab another catcher or be ready to watch Tek possibly groom Josh Bard to be the catcher of the future, either way get it done! Don't get me wrong here either. If I had my way, Tek would be showing up in FLA in couple of weeks going eeny meeny miny moe with his pitchers on who he will call another no-hitter with next. Although we don't live in a perfect world and that may not happen. Finally though the Sox can at least push back (screw you Boras) a little knowing that there are few teams out there ,if any at all, that will pay anywhere near the asking price for Tek. So this move works for me and hopfully will work out for the Sox. We will find out on Friday...or wait is it Saturday?

Ep53 - Are we going to talk sports at all?

Adam's view of the Inauguration...YA DUDE!!

Fresh off his vacation to the frozen tundra that is Washington DC, Adam is back for Episode 53 and has many stories of the National Air and Space Museum, thank god they had heaters. Timmy has stories from curbside at the Gahden and his brushes with fame, if you can call Lenny Clark famous.

The Celtics are on another sick run winning their last 8 games in a row. Are they as hot as they were during their 19 game run? Will they sign Stephon Marbury? Will Ray Allen actually miss a shot for the rest of the season? All of these questions were answered on this episode of WPDR.

Finally some Hot Stove action as the Red Sox make an offer to the Captain for 1 year at $5 mil with a second year option. Will Tek accept? The boys discuss!!

    Episode 52 - Bean Potpourri

A little bit of everything Boston sports hits the show this week. Timmy, Scotty and Billy gear up for Fantasy Nascar. The Celtics take the show down to Orlando for the night, the Bruins hit the All Star break and the Sox and Pats continue their offseason movements. How many Notre Dame references can Billy Corey shoehorn into a show? Get your pitch counters ready it will probably be more than ten. Thanks for listening. Have a great weekend. Sign up for Fantasy Nascar with the email below.

    Wicked Pissa Pats Logo

Today the New England Patriots unvieled the logo they will be using for the 50th anniversary of the team. I have to say it looks pretty slick, not that you would expect anything less from Bobby Kraft and the crew.

So we are sans Josh, sans Scott, sans Tommy B, but we do have a shiny new logo, I'd say we're ready to stomp all over the AFC next year!!

Another note, I am still digesting the Inauguration festivities as I have only been back for a couple of hours (literally) so I will get on here and write about my experiences from the last couple of days. If you want to check out my twitter complete with pictures and map locations of where I watched from you can go to Adam's Twitter and read all about it. I will be reflecting on the meaning of the day here very soon...stay tuned!!

One last thing, don't forget to check out Timmy, Scotty and Billy Corey on TNA tonight. It's a show that is NOT TO BE MISSED!!

    Episode 51 - Wanna Race?

Well here's the deal, Adam is in D.C. bucking for a cabinet position so Scotty Dukes is on the Monday show this week. He and Timmy will discuss the Celtics resurgence and the Bruins last second defeat. (literally last second, really, did you see it?) The boys will also get into Red Sox Tek talk and how much the NFL playoffs (playoffs?playoffs?) suck without the Pats presence.

Oh yeah, by the way, who's down for some WPDR Fantasy Nascar? Adam, Timmy, Scotty Dukes and Billy Corey are in, so who's coming with us? There are six spots left in the WPDR "Speed & Swerve" League. If you would like to trade paint with the boys send an email to radio@wickedpissadude.com What's that? How does Fantasy Nascar work? We don't have a clue but we'll find out together and have some fun while we're at it. Thanks for listening to the show and tell your friends all about WPDR every Monday and Thursday night.

    Have a DAY MASS!!

Even on the road to the Inauguration I found some time to catch a little MA sports from today. It's not everyday that the UMass Minutemen are on ESPN, but you can usually count on their games against Temple or UConn being on and they played and beat Temple this evening.

It wasn't just the Minutemen that were on TV tonight, the Celts also had a nice win against the Nets making their streak four wins in a row.

First, UMass. Yes, the Minutemen are only 7-9, but they are 2-1 in the A-10 and while it's early to speculate what might happen in March, I like their chances of making some waves in the A-10 tourney. I may even travel to Atlantic City to check it out and get the WMUA gang back together (YA UMASS RADIO!!)

In all seriousness, I like this team a lot. We have the #2 scorer in the A-10 in Ricky Harris who led the team tonight with 24 points. You know who really caught my eye was Chris Lowe. The kid put up a double double for the night and had a couple of cross overs that broke some Temple Owl ankle.

On the Temple side of the ball Dionte Christmas had a strong performance continuing his A-10 scoring lead pace with 26 points.

What I love about this UMass team is that they are fun to watch. They may not win every basketball game, in fact, clearly they don't, but they are a good group of kids (ya I said it, kids...EASY) and I think I'll end up making the trek to Atlantic City for the fun of the tourney!!

Onto the streaking Celtics. After losing four in a row, today they picked up their fourth win in a row beating the Nets 105-85 on the back of Ray Ray's 26 points.
This leaves me wondering if the C's are going to be a streaky team for the rest of the season. That is certainly how they have been over the first half of the season. They won 19 games in a row, then four out of six and now they've won four in a row (hopefully more.) My only hope is that they streak into the playoffs on a high and not a low, otherwise King James will be a big strong brick wall for us to run into.

More on Wicked Pissa Dude Radio MNA with Timmy and Scotty Dukes, while I continue to be off witnessing history. Tomorrow night is the big concert at the Lincoln Memorial!!! WHAT!?!?!?!?

Thank God for the Atlantic Division!

So the C's are back on track right...oh wait three wins in a row versus the Atlantic Division do count right? Of course they do. This could be just what the Celts need to get back that championship swagger that the Green had during that 19 game win streak. This could not have come at a better time, with just one more against the Nets. The Celts will only have 6 more games before February and none of the remaining are long flights out west or down to Texas. Thus allowing Doc to do what the majority of Celtic nation want him to, which is rest the big three.

Last nights beat down gave the starting 5 (yes include Scalabrine in that)the fourth quarter off for the first time in memory. I'm not saying the rest of this month is going to be a breeze what with road games versus Orlando, Miami, and Detroit but again neither are far from home and the Florida games are back to back which is not a big deal. The C's should look at this stretch of 7 and should at least go 6-1 or 5-2.

Am I being a little too optimistic right now? I mean it's only three straight vs the Atlantic but if you watched those games you could start to see that swagger and the fun that has been missing from these past few weeks. Plus with a month till the All-Star break this stretch of days off before games and some extra rest could give them a huge advantage getting ready for the final two and half months or to be cliche' the stretch run.

    Episode 49 - Cooperstown Calling

Well Rice is finally in the Hall. Now what do we bitch about? Plenty. The NFL coaching carousel continues to spin. More pieces continue to get pulled out of Foxboro. The Celtics and Bruins are back to their winning ways. Last but not least Billy Corey and Coach K have something else in common besides coaching? Find out what it is on another nonsense packed episode of Wicked Pissa Dude Radio. Thanks for listening and tell you friends.

    'Bout Uckin Time!

After fifteen long years Jim Rice is going to the baseball Hall of Fame. Fifteen years...think about that. Do you own anything that you had fifteen years ago? How many people do you still talk to that you met 15 years ago? Jeezus that's half my age! To say it has been a long time coming would be the understatement of...well the last fifteen years. Jim Rice was Albert Pujols before Albert Pujols held a bat. Jim Ed had combined numbers that made him first in the majors in hits and RBI's and third in HR's for a stretch of ten years (1975-1986). The man was a power house. One Hall of Famer, Goose Gossage said "There's no hitter that scared me, but Jim Rice came the closest" Gossage got in last year after eight years on the ballot by the way. In his last year of eligibility Jim Rice is finally in the Hall of Fame. This means that most fans (like my father) can now check Jim Ed off that infamous list of tragedies that have haunted the Boston Red Sox franchise. Winning the Series in '04 was the big one. None the less, congratulations to Jim Rice. Every last minute of satisfaction and commendation is now yours. Well earned.

Oh yeah Rickey Henderson made the hall too.

    Pats OC leaving town...shocking!

Well it didn't take long for the rest of the NFL to come calling on the intelligence that surrounds the New England Patriots. Belichick's disciples are always hot commodities and this time around it is the young and talented Josh McDaniels. McDaniels at just 32 years old is taking over a team that has had the same head coach for the last 14 years which in the NFL is about 4 lifetimes! Now, it is a good position for McDaniels as he has a young, strong armed QB and some talented wide outs. What remains to be seen is whether or not he can handle the entire job of being a head coach in the NFL. Moreover taking on the pressure of replacing the greatest head coach the Denver Broncos franchise has ever had . Best of luck to Josh McDaniels, he'd better hope he is better than the last three of Belichick's disciples.

Now onto the important stuff...who the hell is gonna replace him?! With McDaniels gone the Pats are forced to replace an offensive coordinator and a QB coach. It was well known that McDaniels and the Pats QB's all got along very well. The task of finding someone to fill that void will be up to the most trusted man in New England sports today. So we leave it to you Bill "pick us a winna dude"!

    OMG The Celtics Won

It seemed for a long time that the Celtics were never going to lose a game this year. Then came Christmas Day and a loss to the Los...err...Lakers.

Ever since then it's been downhill, but maybe they hit rock bottom against the Cavs on Friday night.

They were completly over powered by King James who put on an absolute show. It seems though that they bounced back nicely today against the Raptors.

Yes yes yes it was the Raptors and not the Cavs, but the C's are clearly at a point where a win is a step in the right direction. Soooo they are back on track (fingers crossed.).

We'll have much more on the faltering C's on Monday nights WPDR!!!

    F-the Giants

I went to the grocery store this morning and everywhere I looked all I saw were Giants fans. Ugh, it's the most annoying thing about living in southern CT.

One thing that makes this slightly less annoying is that last night I was turned on to a Boston sports bar in NYC!! Ya dude!! It was awesome to see Sox stuff on the wall of a Manhattan bar...what Steinbrennar!!

Oh did I mention Julia Stiles was at the bar? I didn't believe it at first, bit then I got confirmation from the guy she was with and an obsessed fan...no not me, even though I am a little stalkerish about her!!
